Board filtering and sorting

Use board search to filter cards by free text. The query is matched against visible card information, including title, ID, users, categories, tags, and design elements.

Search works together with saved filters, so you can combine quick text lookup with rule-based filtering.

Filters

In addition to category views, you can create custom board filters to focus on specific slices of work.

A filter can include one or more rules based on these fields:

  • User
  • Importance
  • Design element
  • Design element including children
  • Tag
  • Estimated cost
  • Logged cost
  • Due date
  • Closing date
  • Creation date
  • Creator

Supported operators depend on the selected field:

  • Equal / Not equal
  • Lower than / Higher than (cost)
  • Older than / Newer than (date)

You can create and manage filters from the filter button in the board header. Saved filters can be enabled or disabled quickly.

Additional capabilities:

  • AND/OR logic: Use AND when all rules must match, or OR when any rule can match.
  • Multi-selection (Personal Plus and Studio): Enable multiple saved filters at once.
  • Filter sharing (Studio): Project admins can share filters with the full team.

Sorting

Default sorting is manual (drag and drop), usually used to set priority.

You can switch sorting from the board header to:

  • Manual (default)
  • Title (A-Z)
  • Importance
  • Design element
  • Due date
  • Creation date
  • Closing date
  • Estimated cost
  • Logged cost
